Beyoncé and Jay Z celebrated their grandmother’s 100th birthday party. Their 8-year-old daughter, Rumi Carter, was photographed dancing in a party dress at the event. It rarely saw their family’s event style.
On September 27th, the Carter family celebrated Matriark Hatty White, Jay-Z’s grandmother, 100 years old, during a party in New York City. Beyoncé shared a montage of the event Friday, October 3rd. This included shots of her stunning outfit, as well as looks worn by her husband, White, mother, Tina Knowles, and her 8-year-old daughter, Lumi Carter.
A quick glimpse of Rumi made her unusual appearance at her fun party style. Rumi is wearing a white dress in a full tulle skirt and features a thin back with keyhole cutouts and flower details sewn into her torso. She paired the dress with a silver flat and ankle straps. Rumi was wearing her hair in a long braid and cutting a rug on the dance floor.

Rumi’s mom wore a black bustier gown with a corset bodice and a long black skirt. Beyoncé teased her blonde hair in a gorgeous Hollywood style, decorated with furry white boa and black opera gloves strewn over white rhinestones. Jay-Z was by her side in a classic black tuxedo and bowtie.
The Cowboy Carter singer also shared a sweet photo of Knowles wearing a red suit, leaning against the white as she shared an intimate conversation. The guest of honor was in two blue pieces decorated with silver sequins. The party guests were also serenaded by music icon Stevie Wonder.
White was an inspiration for her family, and her words were even featured in the outro of Beyoncé’s 2016 song, “Freedom.” She said, “I had ups and downs, but I’ve always found an inner strength to lift myself up.”
