Bethenny Frankel feels “sick to her stomach” because her chronic kidney disease is “going in the wrong direction.”
The “Real Housewives of New York City” alum, who announced last month that she received a stage 2 diagnosis, told her Instagram followers on Thursday that she is “actually stage 3A.”
The 55-year-old noted in Bravolebrity that although Frankel’s doctor told her “water is medicine,” this is “right in the middle (and) not yet on medication.”
The former reality star said the advice gave her “anxiety because[she’s]constantly dehydrated.”
Frankel added that because the disease “can fluctuate,” doctors don’t want her to be “completely alert,” but rather to “come back in a few months and get tested.”
The Skinnygirl creator tried to “…keep calm” while encouraging other social media users to “get tested.”
She slammed the idea that “supplements are being pushed and sold to everyone” and argued that consumers should not “run around trying to do everything”.
Dr. Frankel says, “Make sure your doctor knows[what you’re taking]because some things affect different parts of the body in different people. It’s really not a one-size-fits-all model.”
“It’s important to get tested and keep going, because then we’ll find other diseases,” she continued, noting that her most recent ultrasound revealed a “liver nodule.”
Frankel hit back at a commenter who said, “I wish people would stop eating caviar.”
She clarified: “It’s fine for me. (My blood pressure) is very low.”
Frankel made her first “medical announcement” in January, explaining: “Several months ago, I decided to be proactive about getting blood tests…each time, my kidney function was decreasing.”
She blamed her symptoms on either an autoimmune disease or “a traumatic experience many years ago when I almost died from an allergy attack.”
Earlier that month, the “Bethenny Ever After” alum opened up about contracting a bacterial infection on her face in St. Barts.
“I will never use hotel towels or sheets again,” she declared via TikTok. “you’re welcome.”
