Netflix has the YA series “Crew Girl” in green light.
Miku Martineau (“Gaming”, “Kate”, “Star Trek: Section 31”) leads the cast, including Jessica Pare (“Seal Team”, “Mad Men”) including Ella, “The Marshmallow Experiment”, “Time Cut”, and “Bad Men”. Cam, and Thomas Cadlott (“Scream”, “Yes”, “Family Law”).
The official logline for the series is as follows:
“A bubble-blown teen drama about a 16-year-old woman’s row-grin (Martineau) who becomes Coxwain on the dysfunctional all-boy row-grin team at an elite East Coast prep school. Confusing. Can she fix both?”
Vivian Lin is a writer, executive producer and showrunner. Jeff Norton, Lindsay McAdam, Hilary Zwick Turner, Tony Chong and Lori Massini are also executive produced. The series is produced by Great Pacific Media, the scripted, unscripted live action division of Thunderbird Entertainment.
This marks the latest Netflix project starring Martineau. Most recently, she played the lead role in the teenage drama “BET” and also appeared in the 2021 Netflix film “Kate.”
Other productions welcomed by Thunderbird Entertainment include “Sidelined: The QB and Me,” “Boot Camp,” “Kim’s Converiance,” “Mermicorno: Starfall,” “Super Team Canada,” “Molly of Denali,” and “Highway Thru Hell.”
