Bella Ramsey, who stars as Ellie in HBO’s hit video game series The Last of Us, aired on HBO earlier this year and faces more vocal online critics for season 2, which appeared at several Emmy Awards next month.
“The Last of Us” Season 2 recorded the events for the hit video game sequel, “The Last of Us Part II.” Both the show and the video game were backlash early in the story for the brutal murder of the protagonist Joel (played on Pedro Pascal’s television), with new antagonist Abby (Caitlyn Dever) and the portrayal of Ellie’s same-sex relationship Dina (Isabella Mercedo). Online Troll Review Bombing Season 2 has been posted online with homophobic comments on social media.
When asked about the “bigger critic” of the season, Ramsey stated on a “award awarded” podcast (via Gamesradar) that he “tryed to pilot the clear as much as possible.”
“Because there’s nothing I can do anyway. The show comes out. There’s nothing I can change or change, so there’s nothing to read or watch anything,” Ramsey said. “Of course, people have a right to receive their opinions. But that doesn’t affect the show. It doesn’t affect how the show continues, or anything in any way. They’re very separate to me.
Ramsey also told her dislikes she could skip the next season three. “You don’t need to see it. If you hate it that much, the game exists. You can play the game again. If you want to see it, you enjoy it.”
Like the first half of the “Last of Us Part II” video game, season 2 ended with a cliffhanger as Ellie is ambushed by Abby, who holds a gun. Fans who aren’t playing the game will need to wait until season 3 to know what will happen next, but the season looks very different as Dever’s Abby becomes the new protagonist.
Showrunner and co-creator Craig Mazin confirmed at the recent Emmys FYC event that Dever will become a season 3 star. Mazin will also become the sole showrunner for season three after Neil Druckman, who co-created the video game, resigned to focus on video game company Naughty Dog.
Ramsey is earning the best lead actress in the drama at the Emmys next month. This is the entire series of outstanding dramas, along with Pascal as a lead actor.
