Barry Keoghan or Ringo Starr?
The Saltburn actor, 33, debuted a new Ringo Starr-inspired hairstyle as he prepares to play the Beatles drummer in Sam Mendes’ new biopic.
Corgan appeared at the London premiere of his new film Crime 101 on Wednesday with a long mop-top hairstyle similar to the look of the early Beatles star.
The Irish actor, who usually has fairly short brunette hair, wore a leather racing jacket and matching pants, as well as a green and white face-covering scarf. All of these were from the brand MAINS.
Mendes’ The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will feature four films, each starring a different member of the popular British rock band, all scheduled for release in April 2028.
Cogan plays Starr, Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon, Paul Mescal plays Paul McCartney, and Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison.
Other cast members include Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Harry Lloyd as George Martin, and James Norton as Brian Epstein.
“We’re not just making one movie about the Beatles. We’re making four,” Mendes, 60, admitted at CinemaCon in March 2025. “Maybe this is an opportunity to understand them a little more deeply.”
“We needed a way to tell this epic story to a new generation,” the filmmakers explained. “I can definitely say there is still a lot left to explore, but I think we have found a way to make it happen.”
The 85-year-old star previously endorsed Corgan’s casting when it was still a rumor.
“I think it’s great,” the beloved musician said on “Entertainment Tonight” in December 2024. “I think he’s taking drum lessons somewhere. I hope not too many!”
Corgan challenged himself to become a member of the Beatles.
In July 2025, he told the BBC’s Radio 1 Breakfast program: “It’s amazing. I look amazing.” “I’m not kidding. I look great. I look more like an apple than an apple looks like an apple.”
On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in May 2025, Corgan admitted that he met the star before filming began.
“We met at his house and he played the drums,” the “Eternals” actor said. He asked me to play, but I wasn’t playing drums for Ringo. ”
“And when I was talking to him, I couldn’t look at him,” Corgan added of his meeting with the star. “I was nervous, as I am now, but he was like, ‘You can watch me.'”
