What you need to know

Barry Keoghan sported a long mop-top hairstyle at a screening of his new movie Crime 101 on January 28th in London. The style is very similar to the Do that Ringo Starr previously wore. Corgan is set to play the drummer in Sam Mendes’ The Beatles – A Four-Movie Event, a role he will reprise in an upcoming biopic project.

Barry Keoghan’s new hairstyle is here, there, and everywhere!

At 33 years old, Corgan seems to have already begun the long and winding road to becoming Ringo Starr. The Irish actor, who will star in the upcoming biopic, debuted a new, longer hairstyle in London on Wednesday, January 28, that closely resembles the Beatles’ early drummer’s iconic mop top.

The Saltburn star appeared at the screening of Crime 101 at the Odeon Lux Leicester Square wearing a new look with her usual brunette hair, only it was much longer than the last time she appeared in public.

Corgan styled his hair in a voluminous, shaggy cut, reminiscent of the looks of 2010s boy bands (see: early One Direction) and, of course, the mop-top style popularized by the Beatles (including the now 85-year-old star) in the 1960s.

In photos from the Crime 101 screening, the Oscar-nominated actor can be seen touching his hair, which took center stage as he accessorized with a scarf that covered his face. In other images, he poses alongside his co-stars Monica Barbaro, Halle Berry, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in the new heist thriller.

Crime 101 will be released in theaters next month, but the wait for Keoghan’s star biopic will be even longer.

The music-focused film is scheduled for worldwide release in April 2028, along with three other separate but intersecting films that follow the star’s fellow “Yesterday” rockers Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison.

Sam Mendes’ project, collectively titled The Beatles – A Four-Movie Event, will be the “first binge theater experience” post-release, the director announced at CinemaCon in March 2025.

Sony Pictures and Neal Street Productions first announced a film in early 2024 that will tell the stories of each of the four members. And after months of casting rumors swirling on social media, Mendes has finally revealed who will play the Fab Four in 2025.

In addition to Corgan’s star, the cast includes Paul Mescal as McCartney, Joseph Quinn as Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as Lennon.

The star reacted to the film in an exclusive chat with PEOPLE shortly before casting was announced.

“I’m thrilled that[Mendes]took the crazy step of making four movies at once,” the legendary musician tells PEOPLE. “My life as a young man, John’s life, Paul’s life, George’s life, so they’re all bound to interact in some way.”

“When I joined, there would be Beatles around me, there would be Beatles at Paul’s house. We’d all be there. So I’m excited to see what he does with it,” the rocker added.

Star also offered his two cents about Corgan’s then-rumored casting during an appearance on Entertainment Tonight in December 2024.

At the time, the Beatle told ET that it would be “awesome” if Corgan played him. “I think he’s taking drum lessons somewhere,” Starr added. “I hope it’s not too much.”
