Following his time at the White House, Barack Obama admitted to “digging” himself “from the hole” with his wife, Michelle Obama.
“I was digging myself out of the hole where I found myself with Michelle,” the former US president said in a Daily Mail with historian David Orsoga at his O2 Arena in London on Wednesday.
“Now I’m on the ground almost on level,” he said.
In April, 64-year-old Barack detailed how he had to fix the issues of his marriage to 61-year-old Michelle after the successive term of politicians from 2009 to 2017 hit their relationship.
“I had a deep deficit with my wife,” he told Hamilton University president Stephen Tepper in a conversation.
“So, I’ve been trying to dig myself out of that hole by doing something fun from time to time,” Barak added.
And in May 2023, the narrator of “Our Sea” said that leaving the White House would allow her to “spend a little more time with her.”
Rumors say that when Michelle pulled out of public eyes before Trump’s inauguration in January, Obamas swirled, causing paradise to be in trouble.
The former first lady skipped President Jimmy Carter’s funeral on January 9th and refused to see Trump take office on January 20th.
Barak took part in both event solos.
At the time, Page 6 exclusively reported that the co-host of the “IMO” podcast was on an “extended vacation” holiday in Hawaii.
Sources also said Michelle had been “check-out” in Washington, DC since the family left the White House in 2017.
However, Barak closed down the divorce speculation by posting a sweet birthday cry to “My Life Love” in January and sharing a beloved Valentine’s Day selfie in February.
Michelle also denied that she and Barack were heading for divorce.
“That’s what we struggle as women — people who are disappointed,” she said on Sofia Bush’s Work in Progress podcast in April.
“If people did that, they could do too much because they had to assume my husband and I were divorced because I was making the choice for themselves,” she added.
Michelle and Barack met at a law firm in Chicago in 1989 and got married three years later.
The couple shares 27-year-old daughter Maria and 24-year-old Sasha.
