I’m still strong.
Michelle and Barack Obama celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on Friday.
“We’ve traveled quite a bit over the past 33 years, and today we love you more today than the day we said, ‘I’ll do it.’ ”
“Happy anniversary, @barackobama! I’m so lucky to be able to live my life with you.
The 64 former presidents also used the same photos to commemorate their marriage on social media.
“The best decision I ever made was to marry you, @michelleobama,” he captioned it. “For 33 years I have admired your strength, grace and determination. And the fact that you do it all and look so good. A happy anniversary!”
The couple met after Michelle was assigned to the leader of the law firm Barak.
She explained in an August episode of the podcast “IMO,” that she assumed the new employer (aka Barak) was “probably a little weird” and “geek.” However, when they first spoke on the phone before they met in person, she felt a “spark sensation.”
The two “really hit off” during the long lunch, but Michelle initially ruled out his relationship with Barak.
The two married in 1992 and welcomed Maria, now 27, and Sasha, 24, so it clearly didn’t go well.
More recently, the duo was plagued by rumors of divorce after Barack attended several political events, including President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Trump’s inauguration.
Sources said Michelle was “check-out” of her life in DC in January.
She later told an April episode of Sofia Bush’s “On-Work” podcast, “People (…) couldn’t even assume I was choosing for them and they had to assume my husband and I were divorced.”
Gossip also joked that their relationship “will be touched for a while” on Michelle’s “IMO” podcast.
