Taiwan Creative Content Fest unveils its TCCF pitching lineup for 2025, with an emphasis on literary adaptation and cross-border collaboration that reflects an increasingly global approach to content development in the entertainment industry.

The November festival will highlight several well-known adaptations, including an animated version of Ying Chang Compestine’s horror story collection, “Hungry Ghosts for Hungry Ghosts,” and a series based on Yang Shuang-Zi’s National Book Awaring Award-winning “Taiwan Traverogue.” Other notable selections include projects adopted from Nishiyama Akira’s work, as well as a new documentary from Berlin Teddy Prize winner Huang Hui-chen.

This year’s submission pool demonstrated the TCCF’s growing international reach, with entries from 44 countries totaling nearly 700 projects. International submissions and Taiwanese co-production account for 60% of all entries, with Japan, Thailand, the US, South Korea and Singapore leading foreign participation after Taiwan.

The festival’s Select Committee selected 94 projects across multiple categories after assessing commercial viability, adaptability and opportunities for international collaboration.

Notable project segment selections include the film version of Terraotitsuya’s bestselling “sopend bulbs,” developed along with Taiwanese filmmaker Henry Tsai, and a local local adaptation of the Korean drama “Do It One Time.” Japanese Robot Communications, known for “Godzilla Minus One,” presents a “Summer Diary,” and the documentary category features two Emmy candidates’ “atomic paradise.”

The project’s judges include industry veterans such as Studio Dragon Boeinche, Young Warlander producer Luke Franklin and Francischeon. Academy Technical Achievement Award winner Nick Sung Fong Weimin and Taiwanese actor Humenpo will be closing the panel in Netflix’s upcoming “The Resurrected.”

Multiple project choices have won recognition for Golden Horse Film Project Promotion, including both “Taiwan Travelogue” and “What I Killed and What I Killed” as a series, winning four feature films.

The story segment has selected 38 published works, many already attracting international attention. The winners include non-fiction work on Taiwan’s only female death row inmate to win the highest honor at the International Book Exhibition in Taipei and the Frankfurt Book Fair Selection. The two titles represent Taiwan at Busan Story Market, with another children’s book winner being selected for the Guadalajara International Book Fair in Mexico.

The story judges include Mr. Romance’s Ileana J. Son. The company includes Jin Ong, who produced the hit series “Moving” and is Malaysian director of international co-produced “Abang Adik.”

The festival continues its partnership with French publishing organization Scelf, and presents “Shook the Book! TCCF.” It features works that include both French and Taiwanese author and mystery writer Jean-Christophe Grangé.

TCCF 2025 will be held at Taipei Mei Nangan Exhibition Centre from November 4th to 7th.
