Bad Bunny brought back memories for his 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance in more ways than one.
The king of Latin trap opened the show wearing a short-sleeved sweatshirt emblazoned with the number 64, his last name Ocasio.
Fans (including Page Six Style) speculated that the number might represent all the various historical events related to both Benito himself and Puerto Rico, but it turns out the choice was more personal.
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy shared the answer on Monday morning’s X.
“Bad Bunny wore the number 64 to honor his uncle who played football,” he said.
The rapper layered the look over a white shirt and tie, and layered a double-breasted suit, also by Spanish fast fashion brand Zara, for other parts of the performance.
The singer opened the show with the song “Tití Me Preguntó,” danced to a musical medley with the likes of Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, and even showed off a real-life couple’s wedding.
His Grammy win last week, marking the first time a Spanish-language album has won Album of the Year, came on the field at a particularly emotional moment.
It turns out that theories about what “64” represented, including his mother’s birth year, the first incorrect death toll from 2017’s Hurricane Maria, and a previous historic Grammy moment, weren’t the actual intentions, but it looks like Bad Bunny has a new lucky number.
