Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, remains missing, and investigators have not ruled out the possibility of a ransom.
“We’re following up on all leads,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said at a Tuesday news conference when asked if anyone had received a ransom demand.
“We are sharing all leads with the FBI,” he added.
Nancy, 84, has been missing since Sunday.
Police previously told Page Six that investigators believe Nancy was “removed from her home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night.”
“This includes the possibility of kidnapping and kidnapping,” the spokesperson said.
Nancy was reported missing from her home in the Tuscon area around 11 a.m. Sunday after failing to show up for church.
Local authorities said she was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Saturday when she was dropped off at her Catalina Foothills home after having dinner with her family.
Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, was the last person to see her mother before she disappeared.
Police are treating her disappearance as a crime. Authorities allegedly found bloodstains outside her home, but it’s unclear whose blood it belonged to.
“Now that we have processed the crime scene, we believe there is indeed a crime scene and we are asking for the community’s assistance,” Nanos said at a news conference Monday.
Nancy’s family told Savannah’s Today show co-host in a statement earlier this week:
“If anyone has any information, please contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Office at 520-351-4900. The family appreciates the support, thoughts and prayers.”
Savannah’s husband, Michael Feldman, spoke out about the frantic search for Nancy on Tuesday, telling Page Six exclusively that he has “nothing new to report.”
Page Six exclusively reported that NBC’s “Today” show host plans to step down from hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony as the search for his mother continues.
