Spanish streaming platform Atresplayer continues to increase the original production, launching season 2 with “33 Days” (“33 Dias”) of the breakout hit series.
“33 Days” is the first television series created by Carls Porta, a well-known true crime investigative journalist.
Inspired by the real-life escape of two prisoners from Lureida prison in 2001, “33 Days” records a breakout that caused a 33-day manhunt by Catalan policeman Mossos Doskadra.
The series focuses on Mossos’ research team and escape, and its plans begin to unravel and forced to improvise. Mossos, the newly established police, faced pressure and institutional criticism as he faced new challenges at every turn.
“We have changed the names of the real people involved to protect their privacy and enable us to have more creative freedom,” Porta said in the presentation.
Jose Manuel Poga and Julian Villaglan will be stars as Prieto and Calatrava will be stars as escapees. Nausicaa Bonnín and Pau Durà play Clara Moyano and Pau García.
The cast also includes Blanca Parés, Arnau Casanovas, Xavi Sáez, Alba Pujol, Joan Solé and more.
Produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Luminol Media, Goroka and Lastor Media, the series unfolds in six episodes.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Ondas Award for Best Drama Series and Three Feroz Award winner, “La Ruta,” Ibiza-Set Season 2, is scheduled to drop on October 26th.
“La Ruta. Vol. 2: Ibiza” stars Alex Moner. He recreates his role as Mark Rebo, playing Mark’s father, Manuel. The main cast members include Carla Díaz, Marina Salas and Irene Escolar.
The new season, consisting of six 50-minute episodes, unfolds along two timelines and serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the first season.
Set in 1996, Mark Rivo is a resident DJ of Amnesia, one of Ibiza’s most legendary clubs. This is because the island will be promoted to global fame as the epicenter of nightlife. But 25 years ago, in the early 1970s, Ibiza was a very different place. It was a quirky, free refuge under the shadow of Franco’s regime. What Mark’s parents knew was the version of this island. Just before their lives were shortened in the 1972 crash of a Calavel plane, Mark is the same age as he is now.
Mark’s own youth of Ibiza reflects that of his parents. Just like the island itself, their stories are separated by time, but are oddly intertwined.
The new season, told in two timelines, centers around legacy and passing values from parents to children.
The cast also includes Lucía Martín-Abelló, Fernando Delgado-Hierro and Fernanda Orazi. Several actors from the first season will also be returning.
Directed by Borja Soler, “La Ruta. Vol. 2: Ibiza” was filmed in the Valencia community and in the Balearic Islands.
In recent years, Atresplayer has become a prominent player in the Spanish fiction landscape, releasing original series more than any other platform in Spain.
Original productions available exclusively to premium users include hits such as “Veneno”, “FOQ: La Nueva Generación”, “Cardo”, “La Novia Gitana”, and “Drag Race España”.
In 2025, the lineup will expand with “Mariliendre”, “El Gran Salto”, “Mar Afuera” and “Las hijas de la Criada.”
“LaRuta. Vol. 2: Ibiza” and “33 Days” are the first day of the activity on both the Iberseries & Platino Industry screens on September 30th.
