HBO’s Dune: Prophecy Season 2 has officially begun production. Season 2 filming locations include Hungary, Jordan, and Spain, according to showrunner Alison Schapker.
New cast members for Season 2 include Indira Varma (“Cold Water”), Ashley Walters (“Top Boy”) and Tom Hollander (“White Lotus”). They join returning cast members Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sophie Bousnina, Josh Huston, Chloe Lee, Jade Anuka, Faoilianne Cunningham, Edward Davies, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, Yerin Ha, Barbara Marten and Tessa Bonham. Dune: The Prophecy is set 10,000 years before the story of Paul Atreides. Plot details for Season 2 have yet to be revealed, but according to the official description, Season 1 follows “two Harkonnen sisters as they battle the forces that threaten humanity’s future and establish the legendary order that would become known as the Bene Gesserit.”
Schapker will serve as showrunner as well as executive producer. Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, Kevin Lau, Monica Owusu-Breen, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Speights also serve as executive producers for the Frank Herbert Estate, along with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, and Kim Herbert. Kevin J. Anderson will serve as co-producer. “Dune: Prophecy” is a co-production between HBO and Legendary Television. Legendary also produces a series of films. The series is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson.
