Ashley St. Clair has clapped back at Elon Musk after he threatened to sue for custody of their son after he suggested he “might change the sex of[their]1-year-old boy.”
When CNN anchor Erin Burnett asked about the billionaire’s threatening tweets about Romulus, St. Clair replied, “I’m not at liberty to discuss this further, but I think anyone with a reading comprehension level above third grade knows what I said there.”
Page Six reached out to Musk for comment, but he did not immediately respond.
Over the weekend, St. Clair apologized to X for past comments about the transgender community that fans labeled as “blatantly transphobic.”
“I feel immense guilt for my role, and even more guilt that something I said in the past may have caused my son’s sister even more pain,” he tweeted about Musk’s transgender daughter Vivian Wilson.
“I personally have worked incredibly hard to learn how to make up for a lot of these things (I actually don’t know) and try to advocate for people within the trans community that I have hurt,” the former conservative influencer added.
“Also, I haven’t said much about this BC. I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not my voice is helpful on this issue because it would brand me disloyal or just accuse BC of being ‘disrespected.'” Even this response would be right-wing hysteria, but yeah, sorry. ”
One fan tweeted a screenshot of St. Clair’s apology to Tesla’s CEO, 54, and claimed it was “insane” for the “Elephants are Not Birds” author to “come out in support of transgender grooming.”
In response, Musk wrote, “In light of her comments hinting at the possibility of transferring our 1-year-old boy, I intend to file for full custody today.”
Last February, St. Clair revealed on Musk’s social media platform X that she had given birth to the businessman’s 13th child five months earlier.
The next day, the mother-of-one slammed the tech giant for refusing to publicly acknowledge his role as the father of her newborn child.
“Elon, we have been trying to communicate over the past few days and you have not responded,” St. Clair tweeted (now deleted).
“When are you going to respond to the slurs from the individual who just posted a picture of me in my underwear as a 15-year-old without publicly responding?”
In March 2025, St. Clair claimed that Musk “significantly” reduced her child support payments after Musk filed a lawsuit seeking sole custody of Romulus.
She also claimed that the world’s richest person offered her $15 million to keep the child a secret.
Last summer, St. Clair revealed she was facing eviction amid a child support dispute with Musk.
The SpaceX founder is also the father of 13 children with three women.
