Variety exclusively reported that Anthony Ramos has signed a contract with Range Media Partners. Ramos will continue to be represented by CAA and Paul Hastings.
Ramos most recently co-starred in the Ryan Murphy FX series “The Beauty” alongside Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher and Jeremy Pope. The show’s first trailer, based on the comic of the same name, was the most viewed in FX history, and the series began in January and aired its final episode on March 4.
He is perhaps best known for his roles as John Lawrence and Philip Hamilton in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit Broadway musical, “Hamilton.” Ramos received a Grammy Award as part of the show’s Best Musical Theater Album win, as well as an Emmy nomination for his 2020 stage recording released on Disney+. Ramos was later nominated for a Golden Globe for her starring role in Miranda’s film version of In the Heights, and played the character Usnavi in regional and touring productions of the musical.
Ramos’ other film credits include the blockbuster sequel “Twisters,” as well as “A Star Is Born,” “House of Dynamite,” “Bad Guys,” “Trolls: World Tour,” and “Transformers: Rise of the Beast.” In addition to his role in The Beauty, Ramos has also appeared in TV shows such as Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, Ironheart, and In Treatment.
Next, he is producing and starring in the animated film Bob the Builder, which is currently in development with Mattel Pictures, ShadowMachine, and Jennifer Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions. He will next be seen in the romantic comedy Love Language, co-starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Manny Jacinto, Isabel May, Lucas Gage and Billie Lourd, and the film will be screened in SXSW’s Narrative Spotlight section.
In addition to acting, Ramos is also an accomplished recording artist, having recently released singles such as “I Was the One,” “Vicariously,” and “Se Fue.”
