Anne Hathaway is a red vision.
Valentino red.
Attending the 2025 WWD Honors in New York City, Hathaway chose a red dress from Valentino’s 2003 Haute Couture collection and dipped into her archive of stunning looks.
The gown featured a layered silk chiffon silhouette with bow-knotted straps and several ribbon fastenings throughout the flowing skirt.
Pairing her look with matching red shoes, she added some sparkle by opting for subtle diamond drop earrings and a bangle on her left wrist.
Hathaway, who just finished filming the long-awaited “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” has been making waves in notable fashion scenes lately.
Perhaps few looks are as iconic as Valentino’s red dress. Valentino Garavani, inspired as a child by both the costumes of Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen and the striking colors of the guests sitting next to him, was instantly captivated by its rich tones.
The designer has included red dresses in each of his collections since his debut in 1959. In January 2008, she took her final bow at the Spring 2008 Haute Couture show with a finale of models dressed all in red.
This isn’t the first time Hathaway has worn Valentino’s iconic red, nor is it the first time her wardrobe has included vintage items of this kind.
In 2018, she wore a voluminous red Valentino dress to the Met Gala, and at the 2011 Academy Awards, she wowed everyone in a red Valentino haute couture dress from the Fall/Winter 2002 runway collection.
It’s somewhat unusual for Hathaway to appear on the red carpet, but she certainly knows how to make a statement.
