What you need to know
AnnaSophia Robb and husband Trevor Paul take their holiday traditions very seriously.
In fact, the 31-year-old actress told PEOPLE that the two participate in a “gingerbread house contest” every year.
“It’s not necessarily decoration-based,” Rob explains at the 2025 WWD Honors. “So we decorate and we theme, but we also did a weight challenge to see which house could hold the most weight.”
In addition to giving a glimpse into the competitive festival scene, the Bridge to Tarabithia actress also opened up about what she and Paul have learned over the course of their three-year marriage.
“I think probably the biggest lesson is just to enjoy each other,” Rob says. “I think the best thing about being married is that you have a lot of time. So when little things happen, you have, I don’t know, time to just enjoy it.”
She went on to emphasize how important it is for them to take time out of their busy schedules to spend quality time together. “Life is busy, so I think it’s important to take time off, spend time, and just spend time one-on-one,” she continues.
Rob and Paul met in March 2016 while reading at a communal table at what is now called Partners Coffee in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Five years later, the pair shared news of their engagement when Rob posted a snap of his proposal in Amsterdam on Instagram.

“We want to be together everywhere! 🎶 And now we’re 💗 engaged!!!,” she captioned a series of photos in September 2021, including one of her and Paul showing off their new rings. “Yahoo!”
“He’s my best friend, the greatest man I know, and a real badass 🎶,” she continued. “I feel pure joy as we begin the rest of our lives together!”
In October 2022, the couple tied the knot in a three-day wedding ceremony in the mountains of upstate New York. The couple then exchanged vows in front of 175 of their closest friends and family during their “Picnic Chic” ceremony, with Rob walking down the aisle to Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere.”
“It was so much fun,” the Soul Surfer actress told PEOPLE at the time. “Now I want to plan another party. I’m like, ‘I really should do it again!'”
“When I walked down the aisle, it was amazing. When I saw everyone’s faces and then met Trevor, I didn’t know what to feel, whether I was going to be nervous or emotional, but I felt so confident,” she added. “I thought, ‘This is a great decision. It’s a life decision.'”
