Anna Wintour reportedly appointed Chloe Mal as the new director of American Vogue editorial content.
Pack’s Lauren Sherman reported on Monday that the new role of the 39-year-old Vogue.com editor in the fashion media powerhouse could be announced on Tuesday.
A representative for Condé Nast was not immediately available on page 6 for comments.
Wintour, 75, revealed in June that he had resigned from his role as head of editorial content for fashion magazines.
At the time, Vogue announced that it wanted someone to report to Wintour to “lead the magazine’s daily operations across the platform.”
However, the outlet revealed that the legendary fashion figure, appointed to the EIC in 1988, continues to work as Condé Nast’s Chief Content Officer and Global Editorial Director for Vogue.
“Everyone in the creative field knows that it’s never essential to stop growing at their own work,” Wintour told her staff at a meeting when the announcements were made on a Vogue-by-Vogue basis.
“When I became the editor of Vogue, I wanted to prove to everyone who might hear there is a new and exciting way to imagine an American fashion magazine.”
Wintour explained that her “big joy” is to help the next generation of passionate editors raid the field with their own ideas, supported by a new and exciting view of what major media companies are.”
“And that’s exactly the kind of person we need to look for now to become HOEC for our fad,” she said.
Wintour reassured her employees that she “takes great attention to the fashion industry and the creative cultural forces that are our extraordinary Metball.”
Last month, Page 6 exclusively revealed that Wintor is leaning towards Mal to take over Vogue to Mal, daughter of actress Candice Bergen and director Louis Mal.
I heard that at the time, Maru was in the “final round” of the interview.
Vogue Editor is a favorite, especially among the staff, and conducted a Vogue cover interview with Lauren Sanchez to coincide with his wedding with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in Italy.
Mal reportedly secured the role after learning that Vogue Runway, the global director of Nicole Phelps, and several others were in the run.
