Angelina Jolie is taking haute couture to the next level.
On Monday, she appeared on the red carpet at the Couture Paris premiere wearing a translucent silver dress that showed just a hint of skin between the sequin embellishments.
The dress featured an asymmetrical hemline and beaded fringe along the sleeves and skirt. She paired this look with black pumps.
Jolie then changed into a black suit as she left the premiere.
The 50-year-old actress stars in the film as Maxine Walker, a film director who is diagnosed with breast cancer while working for a major fashion house during Paris Fashion Week. It also intertwines the stories of models and makeup artists trying to make it in the industry.
Of course, fans can also expect major fashion moments in the film.
The trailer showcases the glossy runway and the iconic staircase of Chanel’s Rue Cambon salon that leads to Coco Chanel’s private apartment. Director Alice Winocour has been given unprecedented full access to Chanel’s ateliers, workshops and showrooms for her upcoming feature film.
According to Variety, Chanel also collaborated with costume designer Pascaline Chavannes to create runway looks inspired by the house’s collections.
Jolie knows a thing or two about the fashion industry, as she opened her own brand, Atelier Jolie, in 2023. This clothing line is actually a collection of artists from around the world who are “challenging overconsumption.”
The actress is also no stranger to the plight of breast cancer. She underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2013, and two years later had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after doctors told her she had an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer and a 50 percent chance of developing ovarian cancer. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, lost her battle with breast and ovarian cancer.
The press tour for “Couture” has just begun, and we can imagine Jolie putting her heart into her meticulously crafted, high-fashion sleeves.
