Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Pax Tien Jolie Pitt makes a rare appearance on the red carpet.
The 22-year-old posed with director Garrett Patten and producer Fernando Ferro at a screening of the film Self Custody on Friday, January 23.
Pax, who wore a red plaid overshirt for the occasion, was seen chatting with people from the drama starring Adrian Grenier before heading to a festival party in Park City, Utah.
Of course, Pax has been involved in film production ever since Jolie and Pitt adopted him in the early 2000s. As a child, he attended the 2018 Golden Globe Awards and walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Jolie’s 2019 film Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
Pax also had a cameo in Jolie’s 2014 film Maleficent and provided the voice of Yu in his mother’s 2016 film Kung Fu Panda 3, but Jolie said her son is actually more comfortable behind the camera.
In 2016, she told BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour: “None of my children want to be actors. I think they just like the process of making films from the outside.”

And in 2019, she told Extra, “[Movies]are a part of their lives. But it’s not important to them and it’s become the center of their lives in an unhealthy way. It’s all fun.”
The actress also noted to Women’s Hour that music could form part of Pax’s future. “They’re actually very interested in becoming musicians,” Jolie said. “Pax loves music and deejaying,” she added.
Pax was born in Vietnam on November 29, 2003, and spent his childhood in Tam Binh Orphanage on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City. Jolie adopted Pitt in 2007, but regulations made it difficult for unmarried couples to adopt, so Pitt officially adopted her son in 2008.

Pax was joined by her brother Maddox, now 24, whom the couple adopted from Cambodia in 2022, her two younger sisters, and her first biological child, Shiloh, now 19, and Zahara, now 21, whom the couple adopted from Ethiopia in 2005. In 2008, Jolie and Pitt added to their family by welcoming twins, now 17-year-olds Knox Leon and Vivian Marcheline.
When Pax joined the family, Jolie told MSN that Pax was a “tough, amazing little guy” who was adjusting well.

In 2011, the family returned to Vietnam, Jolie told the Financial Times. “They’re all learning about each other’s cultures and at the same time being proud of their own. They all have flags above their beds and their own pride.”
The Mr. and Mrs. Smith star, who officially divorced Pitt in 2024, also told WSJ. In 2023, the magazine says children are a priority. “They are the people closest to me and my life, they are my best friends,” she said. “We are seven completely different people and that is our strength.”
