Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the eldest son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has removed Pitt from his last name in the credits of Angelina Jolie’s latest film.
Maddox, 24, was working as an assistant director on the newly released drama “Couture,” in which her mother stars. Angelina plays Maxine Walker, a woman diagnosed with breast cancer whose lives intersect with two other women during Paris Fashion Week.
When Alice Winocour’s film opened in French cinemas on Wednesday, Maddox’s name was listed as “Maddox Jolie” in the end credits, People reported.
Page Six reached out to Brad’s representative, who declined to comment.
In 2024, the executive producer’s name was listed as Maddox Jolie-Pitt in the credits for Maria, in which Jolie starred as the late opera singer Maria Callas.
The Maleficent actress, 50, has five children with her ex-husband: Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Maddox isn’t the only actor’s children to drop their last name.
Zahara dropped “Pitt” from her name at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Corporation’s 2023 commencement ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta.
During her probate, the then-teenage introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
In 2024, Shiloh removes his father’s last name on the “Outsider” flyer.
The dancer, who helped her mother Jolie produce Broadway plays, was featured in theatergoer magazines as “Vivienne Jolie.”
A source told People magazine that Brad, 62, is “aware and upset” that his and Jolie’s first biological daughter, Shiloh, has given up her last name.
“He is aware that Shiloh has given up his last name and is upset. He has never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,” a source said at the time.
“It’s obviously not easy for Brad to be reminded of the loss of his children. He loves them and misses them. It’s very sad.”
The source said Brad “still loves all of his children dearly,” adding that “this whole process has been extremely difficult for the entire family.”
The “Eternals” star filed for divorce from the “Troy” actor in 2016 and requested full custody of their six children following an alleged abuse incident between Brad and the children.
Jolie’s lawyer claimed that Brad “strangled one of the children and punched the other in the face” during the confrontation on the private jet.
The FBI was informed in 2022 that it had investigated “thoroughly” and had chosen “no charges” against Pitt.
The former couple was declared legally single in 2019 and their divorce was finally finalized in December 2024.
Last year, a source told Us Weekly that the “Fight Club” actor remains estranged from most of his children despite “several efforts to reconnect.”
