Magma Entertainment and Bumilangit Entertainment have announced the new feature film Si Buta Dari Gua Hantu: Mata Malaikat (The Blind Warrior from the Phantom Cave: Angel Eyes) about the legendary martial arts comic hero, who has produced nine films and 86 TV episodes to date and is still Indonesia’s most adapted martial arts comic hero.
The project was revealed at JAFF Market and will be directed by Charles Gozali, with production expected to begin in 2026 ahead of a scheduled release in 2027.
The hit action-horror films “Kodorat” (2022) and “Kodorat 2” (2025) were directed by Gozali and produced by Magma Entertainment, with “Kodorat 3” currently in production.
“[Getting the IP]felt like a dream come true for us. We had tried to pitch another comic adaptation 12 years ago, so this is very special,” Gozali told Variety. The period comic adaptation brings a new chapter to Magma Entertainment. “While staying true to the original, this adaptation tries to keep the breath of the original. There is no local manga series as well-known as ‘Si Buta Dari Gua Hantu.'” We are very honored to be working with Bumilangit, he added.
Bumilangit founder and CEO Bismarka Kurniawan added: “This film production is honored to adapt Indonesia’s legendary character IP into a feature film and looks forward to producing a film that will excite Indonesian film audiences and inspire national pride.”
“I started this journey as a director, action director and even a stuntman for TV series, then stepped into feature films and introduced the horror-action trend with ‘Kodorat,'” said Gozali, CEO of Magma Entertainment. “Today, Magma Entertainment and I are extremely proud to stand here alongside Bumilangit to revive one of the biggest and most iconic IPs Indonesia has to offer. For us, this is more than just a film, it’s part of our dream to preserve, celebrate and present our storied heritage to the next generation.”
