Amy Schumer denied a story that she deleted all of her pre-weight loss photos on Instagram because she didn’t like the way she looked.
Fans noticed that the comedian, 44, erased her entire Instagram on Tuesday except for a merry-go-round where she showed off her slim figure in a red minidress and black Chanel heels. Schumer directly addressed this speculation in a follow-up post Wednesday.
“I have always been proud of my appearance,” she wrote. “I’ve been trying to get rid of the pain, and it’s finally gone. My endometriosis is getting better. My lower back is healing. Cushing’s syndrome is gone, and my face is back to normal.”
“I’m grateful to be strong and healthy, especially for my son,” she added. “But your Instagram is not your identity, it’s a curated version of what you want the world to see. I feel so strong and beautiful, and it was fun to share that.”
Schumer insisted she didn’t intentionally “set out on a weight loss journey” and that her main focus has always been her health.
“I think my weight will always fluctuate,” she said. “I am a menopausal woman undergoing HR treatment. I hope you move forward with strength and self-love in whatever path you take, as long as you are kind and respectful to all. No matter your weight, race or religion, peace!”
As if to prove her point, Schumer later posted a comically boring photo of herself in the hospital, no makeup and messy hair.
The “Trainwreck” star has been open about using weight loss drugs to improve his health.
Earlier this year, during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” she admitted that she tried Ozempic about three years ago and that it made her extremely ill. She then switched to Munjaro and lost 35 pounds with no side effects.
“My hair is fuller, my skin is better, and I have more energy. I want to ‘get off’ more, if you know what I mean,” she shared on Instagram in March. “I’m talking about sex. So, yeah, it was great. Munjaro was great.”
Schumer married chef Chris Fischer in 2018 and they have a 6-year-old son, Gene.
Back in February, the “I Feel Pretty” star spoke candidly about her marriage to Fisher, 45, including how they had to schedule sex.
“We do birthdays…we plan it, we plan it,” she confessed during an appearance on “The View.”
“Nobody’s going to be like, ‘Oh!’ It’s never going to feel like it’s going to just happen,” she continued. “Do people do that?”
