American Film Market is set to return to the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles for its 2026 edition, running from November 10th to 15th.
IFTA, the AFM’s host organization, said in a statement that “the industry’s response to the return to Los Angeles in 2025, along with screenings at AMC Century City 15, has confirmed that the Fairmont venue is the perfect environment to support the full range of the market’s business activities,” noting that the location gives the industry direct access to “a complete ecosystem for production, financing, distribution, agency and creative leadership.” The Fairmont is literally next door to CAA and many Los Angeles-based film groups.
AFM’s return to LA last fall was celebrated across the industry, especially after its disastrous visit to Las Vegas in 2024. Still considered an important hub on the industry circuit, AFM reported that 285 exhibitors from 35 countries attended during the last edition, with space sold out. Among them are AGC Studios, Anton, Kinology, Chalays, Embankment Films, Gaumont, Hanway Films, Goodfellas, Lionsgate, The Match Factory, Neon, Pathé Films, Protagonist Pictures, Studiocanal, WME Independent, XYZ Films and more. After the United States, the strongest international representatives were South Korea, Germany, Great Britain, France, and Italy.
The 2025 edition also hosted a national umbrella gathering of leading sales and production companies from countries such as China, France, Germany, Italy and Thailand, hosted by the China Film Co-Production Corporation, UniFrance, German Film Service + Marketing, the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of Culture of the DGCA, and the Department of International Trade Promotion of Thailand (DITP), respectively.
