Alyssa Farrah Griffin wants “justice for Sidney Sweeney.”
On Wednesday, The View co-hosts discussed how the 28-year-old is “not shy about her sexuality” after her see-through red carpet appearance at Variety’s “Power of Women” event went viral.
Ms Griffin, 36, told viewers on Friday: “I’m over my hatred for Sidney Sweeney.”
Sweeney added, “The only criticism she gets is that she only gets big roles because of her sexuality and her big breasts.”
However, Griffin insisted that the “Euphoria” star is a “phenomenal actor.”
“Women don’t win,” she said, noting that when Sweeney gained weight for her role in “Christie,” haters denigrated the Emmy nominee as “giving herself away.”
Griffin said, “She’s not that attractive in this movie, but in real life she’s attractive and you’re going to be mad at her?”
Elsewhere in the conversation, the political strategist quipped, “Brad Pitt isn’t worried about the role being too hot.”
While commentators didn’t specifically analyze the headline-grabbing sheer dress Sweeney sported at Wednesday’s event, Ana Navarro criticized the overall barely-there look.
“We often hear stories about women who don’t want to be sexualized, who don’t just want their bodies to be seen, but more and more when you look at the red carpet, you’re seeing these gorgeous women literally in what looks like a swimsuit with a sheer cover on top,” the 53-year-old said.
Meanwhile, Sarah Haines addressed her recent “all-nude” look, calling Jennifer Lopez a “great example” of how to stay “classy” while showing some skin.
“She wears things that show her body type, but…she looks like a boss,” Haynes, 48, explained. “I don’t mean to criticize people who want to wear[revealing clothes]but when you go somewhere, you can own whatever you bring to the table.”
The talk show segment came just after Megyn Kelly slammed Sweeney’s Christian Cowan ensemble.
“I’m against this. I’m against the dress,” “The Megyn Kelly Show” host, 54, said Thursday, speculating that the “White Lotus” alum was “misunderstood” and made a “rare blunder.”
Mr. Sweeney did not address the controversy surrounding this impressive number.
