Allison Williams is opening up about her private wedding.
Williams, 37, made a rare comment about her marriage to husband Alexander Dreymon, 42, while speaking with PEOPLE at a special screening of her new romantic film Regretting You in New York City on Wednesday, October 22nd. PEOPLE confirmed in June that the couple had quietly tied the knot.
“It was just a private little thing for us,” Williams tells PEOPLE. “It was just the best.”

The Get Out star added that it was “very funny” to see People “breaking the story” since she had been dropping hints for a while about him wearing a certain sparkly ring. She even referred to Dreymon as her “husband” in her Guardian profile.
“I felt like I was back at Getty Images, you guys,” the actress joked. “I’ve been wearing my wedding ring for a very long time.”
Earlier this week, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight for the Los Angeles premiere of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book of the same name on Monday, October 20, Williams shared similar sentiments while addressing the news of her surprise nuptials, explaining that her “secret” wedding wasn’t actually that secret since she wasn’t technically “hiding” the fact that she had made it official.
“We didn’t hide it or keep it a secret. No, we just didn’t put out a press release about it,” she said.
Williams noted that the two were openly wearing wedding rings before the news broke.
“If you look at[photo agency site]Getty, we were wearing wedding rings a while ago. Guys…you’ve got to take a closer look, guys,” she jokingly told the publication.

The newlyweds first met on the set of Horizon Line, where they played an on-screen couple. The two developed a chemistry while filming together and started dating at the end of 2019.
In November 2021, the couple privately welcomed a baby boy named Arlo, but news of their son’s birth was not revealed until several months later, in April 2022.
On December 7, 2022, two days after Williams and Dreymon made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Los Angeles premiere of the horror-comedy film M3GAN, Dreymon posted several photos from the event on Instagram, confirming their engagement by calling Williams his “fiancé.”
“Premiere of M3GAN with crowds screaming, laughing and cheering. This is the ultimate fun scare event. So proud of my gorgeous fiancée,” he wrote on Dec. 9, 2022, tagging Williams in the caption.
