Details about Selena Gomez’s wedding with producer Benny Blanco last weekend were like peeling onion. It brings you more information, check your guest list and, most importantly, more photos every day.
And today we learned that Gomez doesn’t wear three different wedding dresses, not two during the night.
Founded in the latest Carousel on Gomez’s Instagram images and confirmed in Ralph Lauren’s own social media feed, the American designer was the genius behind all three looks, Blanco’s Tuxedo.
The first gown appeared to have been worn only for the photo before the previous Sekull, although it had a veil attached. It was made of double silk satin, with panels covered in hands that cascaded the bride’s waist.
The high halter collar was trimmed with hand-cut lace and macrame.
The official ceremony gown was thinner and more airy than the first, and was designed with custom silk lace with 300 hand-shaped lace flowers.
The delicate design, with crystal decorations added to the hand-painted corset, danced in the light as Gomez moved. The lace was subtly embroidered in inscriptions on both the bride and groom’s initials and the date of the wedding. It featured a similar high neckline to the original appearance of the event.
And now… drum roll, please… Gomez’s third and final dress allowed her to kick her heels on the dance floor without fear of her guests stepping into the train.
With the same elegant old Hollywood charm as the first two looks, the bride’s reception dress features a similar halter neck design to the previous dress, and an off-shoulder strap that wraps around her back from the front of her bodice.
The dress was made of textured tulle and, as described in the Design House, was made not only with “silk and linen voiles that emphasize a well-ventilated and elegant silhouette,” but also with hand-painted cotton panels for volume.
With over $1 million gems on the wrists of the swing alone, and a timeless diamond drop hanging from Gomez’s ears, it’s safe to say their wedding was a masterclass in over the top elegance.
