Amal Clooney’s engagement ring includes a nod to her career as an international human rights lawyer.

Amal and George Clooney met through mutual friends at a dinner held at the Italian actor’s house in July 2013. The two began communication via email and went on their first official date at Abbey Studios in London in October 2013. Six months later, George proposed to Amal with an emerald-cut diamond ring. In September 2014, the couple tied the knot in Venice in a star-studded ceremony. In an interview with GQ in November 2020, George revealed how he hadn’t planned to remarry or have children until he met Amal.
