Miley Cyrus and Max Morando are officially engaged. In December 2025, the couple attended the Hollywood premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ashes, where Cyrus wore a diamond on her left ring finger, sparking engagement talk. A jewelry expert spoke to ELLE about Cyrus’ cushion-cut diamond ring, its estimated value, and why it’s “right now.”
In December 2025, Miley Cyrus and Max Morando confirmed their engagement when they were spotted wearing a diamond ring at the Hollywood premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The two met on a blind date and have been dating since 2022. “Well, it was blindsided for me, but not for him,” Cyrus told British Vogue in 2023. “I thought, ‘The worst thing that can happen is for me to leave.’
At the time, a source told Us Weekly that Cyrus was interested in building a future with Morando. “Miley was able to live a healthy, positive and productive life with Max,” the source said. “She has learned from her past marriages and relationships and wants to build for a better future with him.” Now, it looks like that dream has become a reality.
Ahead, Jewelers details what you need to know about Cyrus’ cushion-cut diamond ring, its estimated value, and why it’s a “great value.”
Cyrus’ cushion cut engagement ring was custom made.
According to Page Six, Cyrus’ engagement ring was custom made by Los Angeles-based designer Jackie Aish. Aish’s representative also noted that the cushion-cut stone is set in a 14K yellow gold band.
“Miley’s engagement ring is a modern take on a classic silhouette,” Olivia Landau, founder and CEO of The Clear Cut, tells ELLE. “The center stone looks like an elongated cushion-cut diamond with crushed ice facets.”
Landau added: “The diamonds are set east to west in a thick yellow gold bomb-style bezel setting, giving it a very bridal feel while also giving it a cool, modern look with a bit of rock ‘n’ roll.”
Brilliant Earth senior vice president of merchandising Annie Chen said yellow gold settings are “increasingly popular” among customers.
The diamond is believed to be between 3 and 5 carats and is estimated to be worth more than $70,000.
Chen said the diamond in Cyrus’ ring appeared to be 4 to 5 carats and that she estimated it was worth about $70,000 to $80,000. (Brilliant Earth also offers similar styles such as Haiden, East-West Peyton, and Adrian.)
Meanwhile, Landau estimated that the stone was probably around 3 to 4 carats, with a “length-to-width ratio of approximately 1.3.” She noted that if the center diamond were natural, it would likely cost between $75,000 and $150,000.
Angie Kennedy, vice president of merchandising for Zales, also estimated the diamond to be between 4 and 5 carats. The diamonds are “encased in a chic dome-shaped setting that embraces the depth of the diamonds,” she told ELLE.
The ring’s style reflects “a wide range of trends.”
“Flash-set stones and East-West designs are proliferating. They’re bold and modern, yet timeless. The combination of elongated cushion-cut silhouettes and sculptural signet-style bands gives rings a unique, almost heirloom-like quality,” Kennedy explains. “It’s a sophisticated departure from traditional engagement rings and feels like a very personal statement. It reflects a broader trend we’re seeing: engagement rings are becoming more and more an expression of personal style and design taste, rather than sticking to the classic solitaire formula.”
