Harper Seven Beckham, the daughter of David and Victoria Beckham, is spending more and more time in the spotlight now that she’s a teenager.

In addition to occasionally appearing in her parents’ social media posts, Harper also appears in Victoria’s new Netflix documentary series, Victoria Beckham, which began streaming on October 9th.

David and Victoria had three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz, before their only daughter, Harper, was born on July 10, 2011.

Harper is often spotted at fashion designer runway shows and frequently appears on her parents’ social media profiles. In July 2024, Victoria posted a sweet tribute on Instagram to celebrate Harper’s 13th birthday.

“You are sweet and kind and your smile warms our hearts every day. You truly are all our Harper Seven and we are so proud of the happy, beautiful and talented young woman you are becoming,” she wrote.

David and Victoria welcomed their daughter Harper Seven on July 10, 2011 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. She weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces.

The soccer player revealed six months ago that she was pregnant with a girl, telling a Los Angeles Galaxy fan luncheon: “Obviously, I’m very lucky to be pregnant again, but this is the first time I’ve said this: It’s a girl.”

“We’re still in shock. When you have three boys, you naturally expect another one. So we’re surprised to find out we have a little girl in there, but obviously, we’re over the moon. Our three boys are happy and excited and Victoria is doing well.”

Harper’s full name is Harper Seven Beckham and she has a special connection to her parents. The couple liked that Harper was an Old English name and that 7 was David’s shirt number when he played for Manchester United.

Shortly after Harper’s birth, David revealed the deep meaning behind his daughter’s name in a Facebook video.

“Victoria’s favorite book is ‘A Tale of Alabama.’ It’s a very powerful and passionate book, and the author is Harper Lee, and that’s where Harper comes from,” he said.

David added, “The main reason behind Seven is that it symbolizes spiritual perfection, the seven wonders of the world, the seven colors of the rainbow, and in many cultures it is a lucky number. We love that name and we love Harper Seven. We are so happy to have her in our lives and our family. This is a wonderful time for our family.”

Although Harper appears on her parents’ social media accounts, she does not have a public profile of her own. In an interview with Vogue Australia in July 2022, Victoria opened up about body shaming on social media and her worries about how it might one day affect her daughter.

“Harper doesn’t do social media, so we don’t have to worry about that yet,” she said. “But given how cruel people can be, I certainly think so (I think so).”

Victoria added that Harper is “at an age where her body starts to change, but it’s important that we communicate a lot as a family and make sure she’s surrounded by great friends. But it’s very scary, I’m not going to lie.”

In an interview with the Telegraph in June 2014, David also spoke of his concerns about protecting Harper and his remaining children from scrutiny for living a public life.

“Their upbringing is so different than mine, so I think there’s always some kind of fear factor…I mean, the first day a child is born is always something to worry about,” he said. “It’s the most beautiful thing in the world, but you’re bringing kids into a world where you really have to protect them. In addition to his two famous parents, Harper also counts actress Eva Longoria and musician Marc Anthony as godparents. Victoria revealed the news in December 2019 by posting photos of Harper’s christening on Instagram, including shots of the then-8-year-old and all of her godparents.

Since then, the two have maintained a close bond. Desperate Housewives actress Harper posted a sweet birthday tribute for her goddaughter’s 11th birthday in July 2022, and Harper celebrated the release of Longoria’s directorial debut Flamin’ Hot in June 2023 by making burritos with her dad.

Harper takes after her mother when it comes to her love of makeup and fashion. In an interview with The Times in March 2023, Victoria revealed that her daughter is “obsessed with makeup”.

The designer also revealed that Harper is not yet allowed to wear makeup outside the house, but Victoria said, “She’s been able to do a full face and contour for quite some time. She’s very good at doing it naturally.”

“Going to Space NK (British beauty retailer) is her favorite pastime after school. If she does well in a test, I take her to the nearest store. That’s her favorite thing to do. She’s obsessed,” added Victoria.

Harper has served as Victoria’s makeup artist on several occasions, and has also practiced her skills on her father. In July 2023, the retired soccer player shared a photo of his daughter with contoured under eyes.

“Daddy apparently needed a little powder and contouring (I don’t know what that means but whatever it is, it made me look better) my little makeup artist @victoriabeckham,” he wrote in the caption.

Harper inherited Victoria’s love of all things fashion, but also David’s passion for soccer. In a September 2018 interview with Vogue magazine, the designer said that not only has her daughter “been able to run on Alaïa platforms since she was three years old,” but she also has a sporty side.

“On the one hand, she’s very girly, but on the other hand, she has three older brothers and likes to run around and play soccer,” Victoria said. “She’s not afraid of being pushed around.”

She often watches soccer games with her family, and in August 2023, she joined Lionel Messi on the field for an Inter Miami soccer game (David is a co-owner of the team).

In addition to family trips, Harper spends a lot of one-on-one time with her parents.

Victoria and Harper are enjoying quality time together, including mother-daughter spa treatments and workout sessions. David and Harper have been cooking together and attending concerts, including The Weeknd’s show in Miami in August 2022.

During an October 2022 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the talk show host and Victoria discussed their daughters’ chance encounter while Barrymore was filming a movie in London.

“One day my daughter went to the park, and she didn’t know anyone there, but she made a friend,” Barrymore said. “I was so excited because she had a friend…and it turned out it was your daughter, Harper.”

Victoria replied, “Harper is really enjoying getting to know your daughters.”
