Alix Earle spoke candidly about her mother’s health.
On January 7, the 25-year-old influencer revealed on TikTok that she had just returned from a two-day trip around the world, during which her mother’s upcoming surgery weighed heavily on her mind.
“I cried a little bit,” Earl told his followers.
The internet personality, who recently competed on the 34th season of Dancing with the Stars, previously shared on TikTok on Dec. 28 that she and her sister Ashtyn spent the day after Christmas with their mother to meet with doctors at the hospital, revealing that she is “not feeling well right now.”

“Honestly, that day was a little tough for me,” Earl continued in his December update. “This was something I learned while on Dancing with the Stars, so that was just one of the issues I was dealing with.” (Earl previously admitted on TikTok after finishing filming the reality show, “A lot of the things that happened in my personal life during the season, I’m happy I didn’t share them for TV – I think.”)
In his latest post, Earl said his mother had returned to her home state of New Jersey for surgery.
“I’m going to go see her. I may or may not talk more about this this week,” she continued. “I just want to see how everything goes, and I want to be there for her first.”
Last week, Earl made headlines in the New Year when he was spotted sharing a cozy moment with former NFL legend Tom Brady, 48. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the two were hanging out together at the same New Year’s Eve party in St. Barths, and footage obtained by PEOPLE shows Earl smiling broadly at Brady, leaning over to whisper in his ear and rubbing his hand on his back, dancing and laughing together.
Earl didn’t specifically mention his celebratory night with Brady, but in a cryptic Instagram caption on January 3, he wrote that the night was filled with “new friends, new memories, and new beginnings to start the new year.”

The content creator’s night with Brady took place shortly after he split from Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios in early December after more than two years of dating. After multiple sources confirmed their breakup to PEOPLE, Earl later revealed in a TikTok post that they parted ways because he couldn’t “be what Braxton needs,” tearfully adding that he and Berrios had been in a long-distance relationship for five months in between their busy NFL schedules and filming DWTS.
