Alex Cooper arrived at the Golden Globes tonight as a nominee for Call Her Daddy in the ceremony’s newly introduced Best Podcast category. For her debut, she wore a black Gucci bustier dress accented with sequins and a crocodile pattern. She walked the carpet with her husband Matt Kaplan.
The nomination is a landmark moment for Cooper, whose show is one of the first six podcasts ever to be recognized at the Golden Globes. Call Her Daddy will compete against Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert, Amy Poehler’s Good Hang, The Mel Robbins Podcast, SmartLess, and NPR’s Up First. In the end, Poehler won.
Beyond tonight’s ceremony, Cooper has increasingly made fashion a part of his public image. At important moments in the industry, she has gravitated toward statement designer looks, such as wearing a corseted Roberto Cavalli dress at the Tribeca premiere of Hulu’s documentary series Call Her Alex.
