Flawless, a company that sells “assistive AI” tools to the film industry to enhance the work of human performers, has appointed Amit Kapoor as co-CEO.
Mr. Kapur, a longtime technology entrepreneur and executive, has served on Flores’ board since 2024 and previously served as an advisor. He will become co-CEO of Flawless alongside co-founder and filmmaker Scott Mann. Nick Lines, Flores’ other co-founder and previously co-CEO, will become chairman.
Founded in 2019, Flawless’ tools have since been championed by industry labor groups like SAG-AFTRA and used on hundreds of productions at major Hollywood studios. In 2025, Flawless first theatrically released Sweden’s Watch the Skies, a film visually translated for American audiences without subtitles. Other upcoming visual translation releases include Venice Film Festival winner “Tatami,” Berlinale opener “The Light,” and South Korea’s “Smugglers.” Flawless recently partnered with Avid to integrate AI tools directly into its software, as well as localization companies Deluxe and Pixelogic.
Kapoor began his career at Universal Pictures working in business development and strategy. He joined MySpace in 2005 and rose to COO, where he helped transform the platform from a start-up to a profitable global business. In 2009, Mr. Kapoor co-founded Gravity, a pioneering AI personalization company, which was acquired by AOL in 2014 for $100 million. After the acquisition, Mr. Kapur became president of AOL’s publisher platform.
Kapur has served as a board member, investor and advisor to several technology startups, and most recently served as a resident director at venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
Lynes said that before hiring Kapur for the role, he “spent a long time searching for a world-class operator to help us expand Flawless.” “And of course, what ultimately made us successful was a personal recommendation. Scott and I needed someone who could operate on the same earthly level, and we found that and more in Amit,” Lines said. “Amit is now a close personal friend and an important third leg to our leadership, having repeatedly proven himself on the front lines with us. He is completely aligned with our mission to empower filmmakers with assistive AI, and Scott and I are eager to achieve even greater success together.”
Kapur said he was drawn to Flawless’s “ethical AI and deep roots in science and the film industry.”
“Nick, Scott and I have developed a special partnership over the last few years,” said Kapur. “I started by giving advice, then joined the board, and now I am fully committed. We will continue to work together to change movies for the better.”
In addition to his role on Flawless, Mann is also a DGA director, WGA writer and producer, and his credits include “Fall,” “Heist,” “Final Score” and “The Championship.” A veteran technology entrepreneur, Mr. Lynes has launched many world-first products and websites, and created and delivered Lloyd’s of London insured cryptographic software systems for the gaming industry.
Flawless’ suite of AI-powered tools includes TrueSync, a voice-over enabler designed to enhance the work of voice-over actors and localization creatives, and DeepEditor, which expands the scope of editing efforts by introducing a variety of post-production features. These products work in conjunction with the company’s Artistic Rights Treasury (ART), a platform designed to ensure actors and artists “maintain full control and consent over their performance.”
