The “Age of Innocence” limited series on Netflix played four lead roles.
Variety includes Camilla Molone (“Daisy Jones & the Six”, “Such a Very Bad Things Will Come”), Christine Froses (“Buccaniers”, “Ah, Canada”), Ben Radcliffe (“Masters of the Air”, “Annatomy of Scandal”), and Margo Martindale (“American Honest” novel of the same name.
Morrone stars as Ellen Olenska, while Froseth plays May Welland. Radcliffe will play Newland Archer and Martindale will play Mrs. Manson Mingott. All four are regulars in the series. The complete text description can be found below.
The “The Age of Innocence” series was originally announced in April. The official logline for the series is as follows:
“Based on Edith Wharton’s classic novel of forbidden love in 19th century New York, “The Age of Innocence” is a passionate and heartbreaking will. They love triangles that explore themes of freedom, obligation, identity and love in all forms. Should we ultimately drive our minds and hearts? ”
Emma Frost writes all episodes and will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Executive produced by Peter Chernin, Geno Topping and Tracy Cook of Chernin Entertainment. Pavlina Hatoupis will also be executive produced. Shannon Murphy will executive produce and direct the first three episodes, as well as Lisa Bruhlmann and Natalia Leite.
Character description:
Camilla Mauron as May’s intelligent and independent cousin Ellen Orenska returned to New York after marrying Polish nobleman Count Stanislas Orensky. A playful, clever, strong-willed, free spirit, yet brings conflict and guilt over her new position in society.
