Stephen Graham won actor Emmy for the Read Limited series on Sunday, acknowledging Eddie Miller’s portrayal in Netflix’s “Adolescent” co-created.

“This kind of thing doesn’t usually happen to kids like me. I’m a mixed race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby,” said Graham, who is Swedish and Jamaican. “To be here in front of my peers today and to be recognized by you is the greatest humble thing I can imagine my life, and it shows what dreams are possible.”

Among those who thanked Thorne were Jack Thorne, the co-creator of the series, his wife, who said that his father “who took me to the video store and started education as a child.”

“Namaste, guys,” he said at the end of his speech.

“Adolescents” won Graham by nominating his first three Emmys. In addition to the acting awards, he and Thorne brought home the trophies for the outstanding limited series and writing of the limited series.

While accepting the Limited Series Awards later in the show, Graham spoke about the team’s community behind “adolescents” and said that regardless of their role in the production, they were “treated equally and everyone was respected.” “We were all equal, whether you were the executive producer of Plan B or the peers who cleaned our Winnebagos toilets.

The series also supported actors from the Limited Series (Owen Cooper) and supported limited series actresses (Erind Herty) and limited series directors (Philip Balantini). Last week’s Creative Arts Emmys, the series won the Best Film Cinematography for Limited Series, and “Adolescents: Making of Adolescents” won the Short Form Non-Fiction Series award.

Graham is best known for his film roles such as Guy Richie’s Snatch (2000) and Martin Scorsese’s Gang of New York (2002). He also played Andrew “Combo” Gascoin in the 2006 film “This Is Ingland,” recreating his roles in three sequel miniseries airing in 2010, 2011 and 2015. His other credits include “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” two “Pirates of the Caribbean” films, “Irishman” and “Boardwalk empires on hbbb).

Also nominated for actors in the Lead Limited series are Colin Farrell from “Penguin”, Jake Gyllenhaal from “Presumed Innocent”, Brian Tyree Henry from “Dope Thief” and Cooper Koch from “Monster: The Tale of Lyle and Eric Menendez”.
