In an interview with Ladbible, Tom Holland revealed that he took a deep dive on the internet to understand what Spider-Man fans wanted to see on his latest outing as Marvel’s iconic web slinger. The Netherlands is currently under production on “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” This marks the seventh appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth standalone Spider-Man film.
“What I really enjoyed with this latest film is designing suits and understanding what we want to try and achieve,” the Netherlands said of their more involved in the development of the film.
“I’ve been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what fans want in a ‘Spider-Man’ movie. That was the driving force behind me at these pitch meetings,” he added. “I think the producers were like me at times, but we make these films for (the fans), so I think that’s really important.”
The production of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” began with a lot of fanfare as they saw Holland film the action seen in locations in Grassgro, Scotland this summer.
“Yesterday I was on a tank driving along Glasgow’s High Street in front of thousands of fans, and it was fantastic,” Holland recently told AFP. “It felt so incredible, exciting, refreshing and fresh.”
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is directed by Destin Daniel Cletton, who dabbled in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Shang-chi and The Ten Rings of the Rings.” The Netherlands is reviving franchise players Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, with Marvel Vet John Bernsal as the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. New cast members include Sadicink, Liza Colonzayas and Trameltilman.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is scheduled to open in theaters on July 31st by Sony.
