Rob Lowe is ready to be a grandparent, but he is not sure he wants to be “grandpa.”
Actor 61 appeared at the live show! On Tuesday, September 16th, we talked with Jimmy Kimmel about how her son Matthew, 31, recently got engaged. He is then asked by his host Jimmy Kimmel if he is excited about the wedding.
“Matthew is just engaged. Matthew is very excited,” says Lowe. “I’m very, very excited. I’m already putting pressure on him for my grandchildren.”
“Really?” asks Kimmel. “Do you have any grandchildren?” Lowe asks.
“I have a granddaughter,” Kimmel says. “What do they call you?” asks Lowe.

Kimmel further says that the granddaughter he welcomed a few months ago is too young to call him anything.
“But is it cool to be called Grandpa?” asks Lowe.
“I’m fine with that. Why don’t you like you… yeah, yeah, but I look at you. People get confused,” Kimmel tells Lowe.
“I don’t know much, but I know America doesn’t want Grandpa Robrow,” jokes Lowe.
Kimmel replies that America probably doesn’t want that, but his grandson would. He goes on to say that maybe Lowe can go with “Gwee Gwee.”
“What do you know? I’ll let them call me Gwee Gwee,” Lowe says with a laugh.
“That’s good! You might be in the presidential library too,” Kimmel joked. “But do I think you’ll accept this? Isn’t this confusing?”
“No, I want to be a grandpa, I am trying to understand how this wedding is about me.
Lowe is the father of sons Matthew and John, 29, and shares it with his wife Sheryl Berkov.
This is not the first time that Lowe, who wants to be his grandparents, has publicly shared it. Last March, the star spoke with Aarp the Magazine for the April/May story and was asked if he was ready to become a grandparent. At the time, he shared that he couldn’t wait.
“I probably have an overly inappropriate interest in my son’s love life, because I’m fishing for my grandchildren,” Lowe told the outlet. “That should happen!”
