Paulina Polizkova’s relationship with Rick Okasek was exactly what she needed.
The model broke her “selfish” love story along with her late ex-husband in a long Instagram post Monday, explaining that their “childhood scars” were “placed in such a way” that “completely fitted.”
But while explaining how their marriage “works beautifully”, Polizikova created a subtle jab with the car frontman.
“I wanted to help him,” the “sharp and protective” actress told her followers of Ocasek, who passed away six years ago at the age of 75.
“I wanted to repair him. I wanted to heal a little scary boy in his mind, which he was intended to equip even me,” Polizkova wrote.
“I wanted him to be a better parent,” she continued, claiming that “he wanted to be worshiped by someone of public value.”
Porizkova claimed that Ocasek “was filled in many ways for (Porizkova’s) parents” wanted “someone who would make him look good.”
The actress concluded, “Whatever the reason, I’m grateful for all the years we’ve had perfect fit and hugged.”
In the throwback photo, Polizkova was standing with his locker crossed his arms, so he smiled and hugged Okasek.
The former couple welcomed their sons Jonathan, 31, and 27-year-old Oliver together, splitting in 2017 and revealing the split in 2018.
“Our family was a car that always and still is,” she revealed. “When the four of us are together, we can go wherever the roads take us. But as a bike, my husband and I don’t pedal at once any more. That’s why we’re dumping the bikes.”
The following year, Ocasek passed away from heart disease.
His estranged wife lamented the Grammy nominee in an emotional statement from the time, saying, “I found him asleep when I brought him his Sunday morning coffee. I touched his cheek and squealed him.
Porizkova, who was in care for Ocasek at the time after the surgery, claimed that she had “abandoned” him, and thus it was written from the will of her previous partner.
She found this “unfair” and told Extra in 2021 that she was still “at the same level of the condition” with her “traumatic” experience.
That same year, Polizikova opposed “betrayal” in a podcast interview with Amanda de Cadenet.
“I have no way of knowing what he has to do this,” she insisted that she called herself the “emotional provider of the soul” of the locker.
Porizkova insists that Ocasek doesn’t want her to “do anything” or “go anywhere”, and tells her “how to dress.”
She reached a settlement with songwriter’s real estate in October 2021.
Porizkova began dating Jeff Greenstein in 2023 after a brief romance with Aaron Sorkin. The duo got engaged in July.
