“The View” has been hit with significant cost cuts, impacting not only host costume budgets but also pay raises.
Several hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farrah Griffin, are taking pay cuts after Season 29 premieres in September 2025, sources told Page Six Hollywood.
Goldberg, 70, earns a mid-seven-figure salary and is the highest paid of the group, but Farrah Griffin, 37, cannot say the same.
A source told the outlet that the new mom earns a mid-six-figure salary and was denied even a significant raise when she asked.
Not only that, but the women’s wardrobe budgets have also been affected, with a source explaining: “They were upset because they were all wearing very expensive designer clothes, and now they have the same budget for a Wendy Williams type show as a famous daytime show.”
“They keep getting smaller, smaller, smaller.”
Unfortunately, more cuts are expected as the new season is scheduled to begin filming in September, leaving some to wonder when enough will be enough.
The show has reduced its filming space and its fan-favorite Halloween show will be scrapped this year.
Meanwhile, product integrations became rare as advertisers began reaching out to “The View’s” competitors.
“There’s definitely tension with ABC,” the source said.
A representative for “The View” did not respond to a request for comment. Representatives for ESPN and ABC also declined to comment.
“The View” has been airing since August 1997. The original host lineup included creator Barbara Walters, Behar, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, and Debbie Matenopoulos.
Other famous women have come and gone from the Disney-owned show over the years, including Rosie O’Donnell, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, Raven-Symoné, Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris, and Meghan McCain.
