Angelina Jolie is focusing on medical treatment as her daughter Vivienne Jolie Pitt becomes her last child and has legally applied to have Pitt removed from her last name.
“Angie isn’t fighting, she’s not angry. She just wants everyone to heal,” a source close to the Maleficent actress exclusively told Page Six.
“If people knew the whole truth, they would have more compassion for children and respect them,” the insider claimed. “The fact that they don’t badmouth or share things publicly just shows their decency.”
Representatives for Pitt and Jolie did not respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
On July 20, 18-year-old Vivienne filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court asking for her legal name to be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.
Marcheline Bertrand is the name of Jolie’s late mother, who passed away in 2007 after battling ovarian and breast cancer.
In court documents obtained by Page Six, Vivian cited the reason as “personal.”
Vivienne’s filing marks the latest in a long-running family feud since Pitt and Jolie’s highly publicized separation in 2016.
The “Fight Club” star, 62, and the “Maleficent” actress, 51, finalized their divorce in December 2024 after Jolie filed for dissolution of their marriage in September 2016, ending a legal process that lasted more than eight years.
The former couple have six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivian.
Several of the brothers have already taken similar steps.
Shiloh successfully petitioned a Los Angeles court in May 2024 to have Pitt removed from her last name, shortly after she turned 18.
Maddox also filed legal papers in May asking for Pitt’s last name to be removed, citing personal reasons in court documents.
Before the application, he had already begun to use “Maddox Jolie” professionally and was also included in the credits of the film “Couture”, where he worked as an assistant director, while his mother starred.
On June 9, Zahara filed paperwork requesting that her name be legally changed from Zahara Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Jolie.
Knox also appeared to distance herself from the Pitt surname before filing for twins.
As Page Six exclusively reported in June, the teenager used the name “Knox Jolie” on his high school diploma after graduating from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles.
At the time, a source told Page Six that Knox celebrated the milestone with Jolie, her brothers Pax and Zahara, and her twin sister Vivienne.
Vivian similarly did not reveal her father’s last name when she was credited as “Vivienne Jolie” on a May 2024 flyer for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which her mother helped produce.
Pax, meanwhile, remains close with members of the ‘F1’ star’s extended family, despite having a strained relationship with the Oscar winner.
“Pax is still connected to his father’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them,” a source exclusively told Page Six last month. “He recently went out to dinner with his family to celebrate the engagement of his cousin Sidney to Archimedes Jerome.”
According to sources, Pitt’s sister, Julie Pitt Neal, also attended the rally, along with his niece, Reagan Pitt, and numerous other relatives.
However, another source told Page Six that while Pax “still has a relationship” with her paternal relatives, she “doesn’t really have a relationship with Brad.”
