Opera singer Jubilant Sykes was stabbed to death more than 70 times by her son Micah Sykes, an autopsy has revealed.
Jubilant’s cause of death was “multiple stab wounds” from a knife, according to Los Angeles Coroner’s Office documents obtained by Us Weekly.
The Grammy nominee’s death was listed as a “homicide.”
The report also included details about Jubilant’s final moments by his wife, Cecilia Sykes, who claimed Mika had a “documented history of mental illness” and that she had “stabbed” her husband to death.
“While the wife was taking a shower, she heard the decedent yelling for her to call 911,” the report said, according to the newspaper.
“When she came out of the shower, she saw their adult son standing over (Jubilant) stabbing him with a sharp object that was clearly man-made.”
The medical summary revealed “at least 73 total injuries,” with 68 caused by “sharp force” and five classified as “blunt force,” the document said.
In addition to using a “curved knife with a blade approximately 9 inches long and 2 inches wide,” the gunman also attacked Jubilant with a “10-pound dumbbell that contained obvious blood stains.”
A toxicology report obtained by Us Weekly said no illegal or prescription drugs were found in the musician’s system.
Jubilant was pronounced dead by personnel at the scene.
As Page Six previously reported, Jubilant was found stabbed to death in his home in Santa Monica, California, on December 8, 2025. He was 71 years old.
At the time, the Santa Monica Police Department announced that Micah, 31, was “found inside a residence and taken into custody without incident.”
Police also said they “secured the scene and subsequently obtained a search warrant” and recovered the murder weapon at the home.
Micah was charged with murder in his father’s tragic death.
The baritone singer’s son reportedly had long-standing mental health issues, including being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
In 2017, a woman filed for a restraining order against Mika, claiming he showed “signs of mental instability.”
“His behavior is unpredictable. Mika poses a real threat…and he has also been violent towards his own family,” the petition reads, according to Rolling Stone.
Mika was forced into psychiatric detention after an attempted trespassing incident.
He is currently being held without bail due to concerns for his mental health. His next arraignment is scheduled for August.
Jubilant was married to his childhood sweetheart Cecilia for 37 years. They also have sons Madison and Morgan.
