The Sarajevo Film Festival has announced the jury for its main feature competition, chaired by actress Emily Watson, as previously announced.
Watson will be joined by directors Athina Rachel Tsangari and Igor Bežinovic, actress Sara Klimoska and European Film Academy CEO Matthijs Wouter-Knoll. Winners will be announced on August 21st.
One of the leaders of the Greek New Wave, Tsangari broke out with Attenberg (2010), winning the Coppa Volpi Award for Best Actor and the Lina Mangiakapre Award for Best Director in Venice. Chevalier (2015) won Best Picture at the London Film Festival and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards. Harvest, a new Western starring Caleb Landry Jones and Harry Melling, premiered in competition in Venice in 2024.
Bejnović, who is from Croatia, is best known for “Fiume o morte!” (2025) won the European Film Award for Best Documentary. His other films include the documentaries “The Blockade” (2012) and “Veruda – A Film About Bojan” (2015).
Klimoska, who is from North Macedonia, plays the lead role in Milcho Manczewski’s Sister Brother Manhole Cover, which is scheduled to be released this year. Other films he has worked on include Goran Strefski’s You Won’t Be Alone, which premiered at Sundance, and Strefski’s Housekeeper for Beginners, which premiered in Venice.
Prior to joining the European Film Academy, he was Head of Programming at Berlinale Talent from 2008 to 2014 and Director of the European Film Market from 2014 to 2020.
The 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival will be held from August 14th to 21st.
