Gayle King is trashing the style critics.
A journalist has defended her 2026 FIFA World Cup finals outfit after a magazine named her one of the “worst dressed” at a soccer match.
“My whole outfit was ‘boring and vulgar,'” King said on Tuesday’s “CBS Mornings,” recounting what the magazine publisher (whom she declined to name) said about her outfit.
“Not only was I on the list, but they said I was at the top of the list wearing “shabby white clothes.” Specifically, they said I was wearing “a tight white tank top and wrinkled white sweatpants.”
The Emmy winner defended her style by revealing that she paired her Boston Proper tank top with Alice and Olivia cargo pants.
The newspaper said her pants were wrinkled, but the reporter pointed out that “her beloved son Will ironed them for her.”
“He said his pockets were a little dangerous because he didn’t know how to iron,” she said jokingly.
As his co-hosts came to his defense, King quipped, “I had no idea the World Cup had turned into such a fashion show.” “I really didn’t understand. It’s not like I’m sensitive or anything.”
She also named other women on her worst-dressed list, but defended them, saying they all “looked great.”
“Joining my list is Kylie Jenner in a black outfit. They called it ‘overwhelming.'” Blake Lively also made the list because she had so much going on with her look. And model Winnie Harlow loves this, even though she was thought to be ‘over the top’, she made it to the best-dressed list. ”
On Sunday, dozens of A’s players gathered at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (temporarily designated New York-New Jersey Stadium for the event) to watch Spain play Argentina.
In the end, Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time.
