“Star Trek” returns to San Diego Comic-Con with multiple panels, fan activations, and more.
Variety has exclusively learned that Paramount+ and CBS Studios will bring the cast and creative team of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to Hall H on July 25 at 12:30pm PT for a panel discussion celebrating the show’s fourth season. Panelists include Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Paul Wesley, and executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman.
Immediately after the “Strange New Worlds” panel in Hall H, a panel commemorating the 60th anniversary of “Star Trek” will also be displayed. The panel will feature a special intro by Eugene “Rod” Roddenberry, as well as stars from the Star Trek series, including cast members Michael Dorn, Robert Picard, Connor Trinnier, Ciroc Lofton, Doug Jones, Michelle Hurd, Jerry O’Connell, Christina Chong, Karim Diane, and the legendary George Takei.
“Strange New Worlds” also gets its own physical SDCC badge, which features an image of the USS Enterprise on top of the San Diego Convention Center (see above). The badge design will be available in the official SDCC Digital Souvenir Book and will also be featured on a limited edition T-shirt available exclusively at the official Comic-Con Merchandise Shop located inside Marriott.
On July 23, fans can attend the “Star Trek: Collector’s Frontier” panel from 11:00 PM to 12:00 PM Pacific Time in Room 5AB. It will feature Paramount’s Product & Experience team, The LEGO Group and Magic: The Gathering, and explore products inspired by the Star Trek franchise, including a meet-and-greet with the toy creators who designed the collaboration. Prizes will also be won through a lottery.
In addition to the panel, there will also be a special screening of the first two episodes of “Strange New Worlds” Season 4. The season will premiere on July 23, so fans can get an exclusive early look at episode two ahead of its premiere on Paramount+. We will also prepare a surprise gift while supplies last.
The screening will take place on July 24th at the Balboa Theater in San Diego. Doors open at 6pm Pacific time and screening begins at 7pm. Admission is free, but reservations are required and attendance is required for admission. Tickets are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. No badge required for admission.
SDCC attendees can also stop by the Paramount+ booth (booth #3529) on the convention floor. The booth will feature arcade-style games themed to Paramount+ originals, including the “Strange New Worlds” bridge command memory game.
The Paramount+ Lodge, located outside the convention hall at Happy Do on Fifth Avenue, includes a series-inspired port galley featuring the original USS Enterprise model provided by the Roddenberry Estate. The lodge will be open from July 22nd to 26th.
Afterward, fans can check out the “Star Trek: Baldry Build” activation at the Marriott Marquis on W. Harbor Drive. It combines Star Trek themed items from both the LEGO Group and Magic: The Gathering, and offers photo opportunities. It will be held from July 23rd to 26th.
Finally, from July 24th to 26th, fans can visit Sinclair on G Street and enjoy the “Star Trek Fleet Command: 60 Years of Star Trek” archive experience. Star Trek Fleet Command, the popular mobile game, offers an immersive experience through the lens of the game, including official archival artifacts, a holodeck VR experience, themed photo ops, exclusive merchandise, a crane game with Star Trek prizes, a souvenir photo station, and more. A special invite-only event will be held on Friday night for the Star Trek Fleet Command community.
