Yash’s ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Adults’ has released a promo video ‘Ladies & Ladies’ which focuses on the film’s formidable female cast and their complex and intimidating characters in the dark world of director Jeethu Mohandas’ new action drama.
The video begins with a provocative disclaimer based on age, saying, “Children…keep away. Parents…keep away from their children. Grandparents…keep their children away. Great-grandparents…at their own risk.” The video moves away from a passive romantic role and establishes an intensely combative tone, supported by a creepy female voiceover that declares, “Love turns women into monsters. Once you understand the depth of its deception, it’s a beautiful illusion.”
This promotional clip acts as a very atmospheric roll call, placing each star in a meticulously designed retro-gothic vignette before drawing them into the central narrative. Nayanthara is introduced staring into a brightly lit vanity mirror surrounded by circus-style red curtains. Kiara Advani appears in glamorous close-up surrounded by fire-breathing performers. Tara Sutaria embodies the classic femme fatale in a smoky luxury lounge. Rukmini Vasanth pulls out a pistol on a vintage staircase and pivots to pure action. And Huma Qureshi leads a group of leather-clad goth punks in a dimly lit diner.
Driven by moody framing and pulsating electronic music, this aesthetic takes a sharp turn into an unsettling barroom brawl in the final act. Yash’s central character, Raya, stands behind the counter, coolly rolling up her sleeves to face a hostile attacking team, and asks, “Do we go one at a time? Or do we all go?” The choreography is a flurry of quick hand-to-hand combat, broken glass, and acrobatics. The original voiceover returns at the end to deliver the final cynical line. “But here’s the plot twist, folks…don’t forget the predictable sight of a man and his cock,” quickly followed by the sound of gunfire.
The film will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and English and dubbed versions will also be distributed in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam regions.
The film is being produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26th.
