A source revealed that Tom Holland’s performance of ‘Umbrella’ went viral at the exact moment Zendaya became ‘smitten’ with her now-husband.
According to Mail on Sunday’s sources, the Euphoria actress is said to have “fallen madly in love” with Holland ever since she was seen performing Rihanna’s “Umbrella” in drag while drenched in fishnet stockings on Lip Sync Battle in 2017.
Sources told the newspaper that the 29-year-old “Greatest Showman” star’s daring performance, which included fireworks, “sealed the deal.”
“It’s not only sexy, it shows what an amazing talent he is,” a source told the magazine. “It takes a lot of confidence for straight men to pull off drag.”
The performance went viral online, and the Dune actress could be seen smiling impossibly wide-mouthed as Holland performed the sensual choreography in black ruffled shorts and a latex corset top.
“When he was announced as Spider-Man, people were surprised because he was a bit of a wimp,” a source told the outlet. “But what he lacks in height he more than makes up for in talent.”
They added of the famous moment: “You can see the shock on her face, then a look of admiration. I’m sure she’ll show that to her kids someday.”
Representatives for Zendaya and Holland did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on Saturday.
The report comes just days after the Spider-Man: Far From Home actor, 30, confirmed he and Zendaya are a couple after months of speculation.
In an interview with Esquire published Tuesday, the “Avengers: Endgame” actor was asked if he needed to make it clear to his family that the AI photo from his wedding celebration was fake.
“No, because they were all there,” Holland said, adding, “That’s all you get from that.”
Holland did not hide the fact that his marriage to the Emmy Award winner turned out well for him.
“She’s my best friend and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been when I’m with her,” he told the magazine. “But I’ve never felt so supported and safe.”
The power couple first became romantically involved in 2017 while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it wasn’t made public until several years later in 2021.
In February, Zendaya sparked rumors when she replaced her multi-carat engagement ring with a simple gold band during an outing in Beverly Hills.
Later, her stylist Law Roach told Access Hollywood at the SAG Actor Awards in March that “the wedding has already happened,” adding, “You missed it. That’s true.”
