Dwyane Wade has revealed that he gets easily turned on by his wife Gabrielle Union’s signature scent.
“I love how she mixes different scents and different lotions,” Wade, 44, told People magazine at the Fragrance Foundation Awards ceremony in New York City on Thursday.
“She knows the scents I like. She knows the scents that turn me on a little bit.”
He continued, “When I smell that scent, I love it. I know it’s going to be a good night for us. Like we’re going out to dinner, we’re going to have a good night. And she smells that scent and she knows I love her and I can’t keep my hands off her.”
The retired NBA star is a global ambassador for Aramis’ men’s fragrance line, Intuition, which Wade describes as “about the men who want to wear it.”
“You want the person to be stylish and you want the person to feel confident,” Wade explained. “I want that person to be able to move around all day and understand that scent follows them.”
Things seemed to be back to normal for Wade after he revealed in January 2025 that he had had a cancerous tumor removed from his kidney.
In a February 2025 update, his wife, 53, revealed that her husband is cancer-free, after years of being open about certain aspects of their marriage.
“He’s had surgery and is cancer-free, but it’s been difficult,” Union said on the episode of “The View.”
At the time, Ms Union admitted she was “absolutely shocked” and “paralyzed” with fear when she heard the news from Mr Wade.
“I think about the absolute worst-case scenario,” she recalled. “I had a lot of friends who were cancer survivors, but I didn’t go there. We all went to hear, ‘He’s passed away,’ so it took everyone a long time.”
The matter was handled privately, as Wade “did not tell” the public or even his “entire family” about his diagnosis, which the Union felt was a “wise” choice.
“He was wise enough to delay talking about the diagnosis and surgery for more than a year to give us all a little time to reconcile and alleviate some of our very intense fears,” she told the outlet.
