Davey Chase’s mother, Kathy Chase, has revealed her stunned reaction to her daughter’s death in an emotional new interview.

“I was devastated. It felt like something inside me was squeezing all the air out of me, and at the same time it felt like I was exploding outwards,” she told the Daily Mail in comments posted Friday.

She told the media she was in disbelief when she heard of her daughter’s death at the age of 35 on Tuesday.

“I was just running, screaming like a guttural scream,” she recalled. “And these strange sounds came out of me, like these, primitive sounds.”

“And I went out into the backyard and screamed, ‘No, no, no, no!’ I’m in so much pain, but I hope her soul hears me,” she said.

Kathy told the show that on Tuesday night, the day before news of the “Lilo & Stitch” star’s death broke, she had been searching online forums for clues as to where her “ray of sunshine” daughter might be, as she does every night.

The “Ring” actress and her mother had not seen each other since 2019. Kathy, who lives in Los Angeles, said she often checks the Los Angeles County Coroner’s system for her daughter’s name.

“I look up their list of unidentified bodies,” Kathy revealed. “It was very difficult, but you did everything you could as a mother.”

When TMZ broke the news that the Spirited Away voice actor – who reportedly lived near LA’s infamous Skid Row – had died after battling a blood infection that caused meningitis and sepsis, Cassie confessed she thought it was “fake news.”

“But all of a sudden I saw her name on various legitimate sites and realized it wasn’t fake,” she said.

A grieving mother identified her daughter’s body Thursday at a Los Angeles hospital and prayed with a pastor “touching the glass” as she was “as close as you can get.”

“It was a great experience, and I feel so happy to be able to share it with my daughter.”

Kathy said her daughter’s problems began in 2016 when she was injured in a motorcycle accident and started taking painkillers.

Afterwards, Kathy said the “Big Love” actress was “seeking drugs and partying with the wrong people” and that despite rumors, she “never kicked[her daughter]out.”

“She wanted freedom and these people made her addicted to drugs,” Cathy claimed. “That was the beginning.”

Cathy said she last saw her daughter in 2019 when she visited him in prison after he was charged with two burglaries, and described Davey as “completely missing and seemingly insane.”

“Honestly, I thought there was something wrong with her,” she recalls. “My daughter had never been diagnosed with any mental health condition other than PTSD, but drugs got her hooked.”

Kathy claimed she had promised to pick up Davey once he was released, but her daughter “never waited for her. She went back to the street and couldn’t find him.”

The bereaved mother said she was “shaken.” She said “people say I must have been a bad mother” but insisted she “never gave up” on her job as a “Donnie Darko” actress.

“As a mother, you never give up on your child. I was hoping she would still come home,” she said.

Shortly before her death, first reported by TMZ, Roy Hernandez, a man who claimed to be Davey’s boyfriend, set up a fundraiser for the actress.

But the actress’ former manager, John Ryan, questioned the legitimacy of the fundraiser, telling The Post on Wednesday: “Apparently, a man who claims to be her ‘boyfriend’, whom none of our friends or her family have ever heard of, has set up a GoFundMe ‘on behalf of her and her family’ and set her up as the organizer.”

He added: “I can confirm that Mr Davey has opened a trust account with SAG to cover all expenses.” Meanwhile, Hernandez insisted to TMZ that all proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to an “appropriate memorial” to Davey.

Ryan also said he tried to find the troubled actress before she was hospitalized for malnutrition and later died, and claimed the actress left behind millions of dollars.

Ryan told the outlet that despite attempts to contact Davie, he was “too far into” illegal drugs to claim the funds.

Almost 10 years before his death, Davey shared his last post on Instagram. It was a grainy photo of her standing next to a unicorn balloon in Los Angeles in 2017.

In 2009, she told Interview magazine, “I want to do something that changes someone’s life, not something that will be forgotten tomorrow.”
