Anthony Gaidler, best known for his role in The Godfather III, has died. He was 65 years old.
According to TMZ, the actor passed away on Saturday after being on life support since collapsing at his home in California in May.
His cause of death remains unknown.
Gaidla’s wife Valarie, who survived, told the outlet that her late husband was hospitalized last month after his heart stopped.
To honor her previous wishes, Gaidla was taken off life support and brought home after three weeks, but she died last weekend.
Valarie, who had a son with Gaidla during her relationship, said doctors were unsure of the cause of her partner’s sudden death.
She released a statement about Gaidla’s death via Facebook on Saturday, writing that it was “heartbreaking” to say goodbye.
Her upload read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony.”
“We are devastated, taking each moment as it comes and trying to overcome the impossible. Please keep this everlasting light in your hearts and in our prayers for our family.”
Valarie frequently posted about Gydra and their son, Nick, on social media platforms.
On Father’s Day last year, she gushed that Guidera “has surpassed my father, (but) has truly influenced my dreams and given me a higher foundation of love and a higher path.”
Guidera’s first acting role was in the third installment of “The Godfather” in 1990 as a bodyguard named Anthony.
He has appeared in “The Rock,” “Armageddon,” and other films over the years.
He won an MTV Movie Award in 1996 for his on-screen kiss with his Species co-star Natasha Henstridge.
Gaidler last appeared on screen in 1999 as a gun dealer in The Annihilation of Fish.
