Danny Buco was absent from “Watch What Happens Live” after publicly apologizing to his wife Nia Sanchez for his recent actions on “The Valley.”
“To the person I love the most, my beautiful wife, I am so sorry,” Buko wrote via Instagram Stories on Wednesday. “Rewatching the last few episodes wasn’t easy.
“It was a difficult season in my life and a version of myself that I was embarrassed and not proud of,” he continued. “The combination of a blown fuse, stress, alcohol and lack of sleep is never good, but it’s no excuse. You shouldn’t have taken it out on[your partner].”
Buko told her followers that it was stressful trying to “balance parenting and life” while filming the reality show “Bravo.”
“I deeply love, respect and respect (my wife), but sometimes I didn’t show it,” he added.
“Nia, I love you so much. I’m grateful for you and our family and this beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day,” Buco concluded.
His apology came hours before he was scheduled to appear as a guest on “WWHL” with Luke Broderick, and was replaced by co-star Tom Schwartz.
On Wednesday’s episode, host Andy Cohen confirmed that Buko declined the interview, but denied that it was related to the backlash against “The Valley.”
“He had a job booked, but he had to cancel the job,” the Bravo boss, 57, explained.
“I believe him at his word, because if he was afraid to come here and canceled, we would have heard from our publicist that he didn’t want to do it.”
Mr. Cohen later said that Mr. Buko would have to “address” the criticism because he was scheduled to attend the reunion.
“Valley” fans are slamming Buco’s treatment of Sanchez, 36, and his excessive drinking during season three of the series.
Much of the anger erupted after a recent episode showed the couple repeatedly clashed during a cast trip to San Diego while caring for their young daughter.
Fans accused Buco of disrespecting Sanchez.
On “The Valley: After Show,” Buko defended the fact that he seemed irritated with his wife, asking him to help take care of the kids more during the holidays.
“We paid[the nanny]to be here,” he insisted, questioning why he would be asked to do “so many things” while traveling.
Buco and Sanchez, who married in October 2015, have son Asher, 4, twin daughters Isabel Marie and Zaria Rose, 2, and Adelaide, 11 months.
